Saramma Joseph Mathew

MATHEW, Saramma Joseph - Age 88, of Flint Township, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Road, Burton. Fr. Georges R. Bidzogo celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday September 21, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass. 

Saramma was born May 12, 1936 in Thumpamon, Kerala, India, the daughter of Idiculla and Annamma (John) Vellappallil. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Guntur Nursing School in India. She married Joseph O. Mathew July 2, 1964 in India and he preceded her in death June 8, 1985. She had resided in Flint Township for the past 12 years coming from Santa Monica, CA. Saramma worked as a Private Duty Nurse in California. She enjoyed gardening and singing. 

Surviving are: her sons, Dennis (Caroline) Mathew of Swartz Creek and John (Savitha) Mathew of San Jose, CA; Grandchildren, Christina (Kevin) George of Tampa, FL and Vincent Mathew of Swartz Creek; siblings, Rachel Geevarghese of India, Annamma (Itty) John of Los Angeles, CA, John (Alphonsa) Idiculla of India, Gracy (Joseph) Varghese of Grand Blanc and Thressiamma (George) Varghese of Los Angeles, CA; nephew and niece-in-law, Saju and Sharlet Geevarughese and Sumesh and Merline Kurian, niece and nephew-in-law, Philip and Anitha Joseph. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, V.I. (Lusamma) Idiculla; and K.M. Geevarghese.
