PREVILLE, Sandra Lee Catherine, age 92, of Flint Twp., died Tues., Jan. 30, 2024. Sandy was born Dec. 31, 1931, in Flint, to Edward and Beatrice (Willacker). She attended St. Matthew’s School, Flint. She married her sweetheart, Edward Preville, on Feb. 3, 1951, and it was a love that lasted for 71 years, until he passed away. She loved her faith, family and education. They sent their five children to parochial schools, and she was involved in various ways, such as being a homeroom mother and teaching art to first graders. Sandy was active at church having been a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Guild and Council of Catholic Women among other groups and wrote a history of St. Mary’s Queen of Angels Church. She also was a member of the Flint Institute of Arts and worked as a volunteer at its former Art Sales and Rental Gallery. She was an artist in her own right in various media, an avid gardener, and bird and wildlife watcher. She enjoyed traveling, time at the lake, cooking and baking, spending time with family and friends, and the family pets. Everyone who ever met her said she was a sweet lady. Sandy is preceded to heaven by her husband and parents. She is survived by daughters, Renée (Terry) Wysocki, Pamela (James) Salem, Nanette (Daniel) Kowalczyk, Denise (Jeffrey) Turck and Cherie Preville, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at St. Mary Queen of Angels, Swartz Creek. Fr. Robert McGraw will preside. Committal service 11 AM Wednesday February 7 at the chapel at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with a rosary at 7:00 PM and a visitation at 10-11 AM at the church prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to Powers Catholic High School (www.powerscatholic.org/give-now.html) and to the Flint Institute of Arts (www.flintarts.org).
