Modrack, Sally Ann - Age 95, of Grand Blanc, died January 3, 2024. No services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held in the summer. Interment will be later at Evergreen Cemetery at Stony Lake in Benona, Michigan. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc. Those desiring may make contributions to the charity of one's choice or Kirkridge Presbyterian Church, Grand Blanc.
Sally was born August 9, 1928 in Saginaw, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Kohr) Young. Sally met Bill while attending U of M Ann Arbor. She was especially glad when grandson Scott joined Alpha Delta Phi like Bill, and she enjoyed reliving “old times” with him. Sally and Bill married on August 27, 1949 and started their family. Sally’s main hobby in life was her family. She ran a lovely home filled with activities year-round. The family soon began vacationing at Stony Lake, MI and became long term members of the lake community. Summers were always spent at the cottage with family and many longtime friends.
In the early 60’s Sally and Bill became early members of Kirkridge Presbyterian Church in Grand Blanc having the church’s first meeting in their home. Over the years Sally filled a number of roles at Kirkridge including Secretary, Administrative Assistant, and Elder. She was an active participant church activities and could often be found working in the kitchen at Kirkridge events. Being a volunteer at Genesys Hospital played an important part in Sally’s life for many years. She worked in the gift shop, sewing and craft room, and knitted lap blankets for patients.
Sally enjoyed her last years at Abbey Park in Grand Blanc surrounded by a very loving and supportive staff and many friends. She left this life peacefully with family members close by.
Sally is survived by two children, Julie (Gary) Henry of Grand Blanc, Gregg (Maureen) Modrack of Florida; grandchildren, Scott (Amanda) Henry, Amy Henry, Tara (Rich) Williams, Heather (Kevin) Adams; great-grandson, Graham Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on December 12, 1991; parents; son, Stuart Kohr Modrack; and sister, Mildred Hynan.
