Ruth Lida TINNIN

April 22, 1926 — May 29, 2011

TINNIN, Ruth Lida - age 85, of Flint, went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Crestmont Health Care Center. Services will be held 1 PM Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint with Fr. Jay Gantz officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Tuesday and 2-4 and 5-9 Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Mrs. Tinnin was born April 22, 1926 in Flint, the daughter of Hiram and Elizabeth (McGaw) Jones. She married Hugh Everett Tinnin on August 5, 1946 in Flint and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2000. Surviving are: 7 children, Kenneth and Laurie Tinnin of Burton, Linda Tinnin of Flint, Nancy and James Kardos of Swartz Creek, Marlene and Mark DelVecchio of Linden, Darlene Ryan and Bill Walker of Grand Blanc, Bonnie and Dave Crossnoe of Grand Blanc, Cyndi Tinnin of Flint; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernadine Tinnin and husband Frank, Isabel Jones; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: son, Gary E. Tinnin; great-grandson, Brennon Stewart; siblings, Mary Dunnebeck, Frances Barrett, Leonard Jones and Bobby Jones.
