Ruth Elaine SMITH

SMITH, Ruth Elaine - Age 79, of Grand Blanc, formerly of Clio, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at her residence. Services will be held 11 AM Monday, January 18, 2010 at South Flint Church of the Nazarene, 4075 E. Atherton Rd., Burton. Rev. Donald Frey will officiate. Interment will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service. Ruth was born July 19, 1930 in Pinckney, the daughter of Waldo and Fannie (Johnson) Titmus. She was a graduate of Bendle High School. Ruth was married to Earl R. Smith on August 31, 1951 in Angola, IN; he preceded her in death on June 17, 2004. Mrs. Smith was a member of South Flint Church of the Nazarene for 75 years. She retired from Meijer in 1979. She had lived in Clio for 14 years before recently moving to Grand Blanc. Surviving are: children, Jimmy (Linda) of Branson, MO, Robert (Brenda) of Burton, William (LaChelle) of Swartz Creek, Vicki (Don) Walter of Clio, Thomas (Jan) of Clio; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, David (Kay) Titmus of Florida; sisters, Geraldine "Jeri" Logan of Texas, Susan Makela of Grand Blanc. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary Lou Gillmore; brother, Robert Titmus; sisters, Mary Lois Goodwin and Sally Ann Titmus.
