Ruth Avon Murphy

MURPHY, Ruth Avon, Age 83 of Boynton Beach, FL and Linden, MI died July 24, 2006 at her Florida home. Ruth was born June 2, 1923 in Lapeer County, the daughter of Roy and Nellie Rodgers. She graduated from Linden High School and stayed active playing league basketball, bowling and gardening during her married life. Before Ruth was married, she worked at AC Spark Plug and Felches grocery store.  On July 13, 1946 Ruth married Delmar (Bill) Murphy at St. John's Catholic Church in Fenton. Ruth and Bill have six children.  They are: Karan (James)Baker, Dennis (Dee) Murphy, Steven (Annette) Murphy, Raymond (Sue) Murphy, Richard of Georgia and Robert who resides at the family home in Linden, MI. Ruth and Bill have 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Ruth's husband Bill preceded her in death in 1984. Ruth leaves 2 sisters: Helen Singer of Sebring, FL and Delores (William) Auker of Titusville, FL.  A memorial service is planned for Sunday, August 13th at 2pm at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel.
