Ruth Manfre

MANFRE, Ruth Ann - Age 83, of Fenton, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, March 31, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton (A live stream of the Mass will be available on Ruth's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant.  Burial 1:30 PM Friday, March 31 in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.  Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-8 PM  at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton and at church Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass.  A Rosary will be prayed 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Disabled American Veterans.

Ruth was born December 17, 1939 in Detroit, the daughter of Willard and Gertrude (Kellems) Barnett. She married Anthony Manfre April 25, 1964 in Redford and he preceded her in death July 13, 2017.  She had resided in Fenton since 1988 coming from Redford.  She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  Ruth enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, cooking, oil and water color painting, playing the piano, gardening especially flowers, but most of all shopping.

Surviving are: her children, Debra (Joseph) Ziemba of Minnesota, Jesse Dockery of Detroit, and Anthony Manfre II of Fenton; grandchildren, Beth Ann (Jim) Lindborg of Minnesota, Joseph (Ames) Ziemba of Indiana and Doug Webber; great grandchildren, Katie, Joey, Nancy and Johnny; and nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Webber; sister, Nancy Manfre; and brother, Willard "Sonny" Barnett.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
