Ruth B. HAMILTON

HAMILTON, Ruth B. - Age 92, of Linden, died January 12, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Rev. Don Neuville and Pastor Seth Normington will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Thursday and 12-2 PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Linden Presbyterian Church or Old Newsboys of Flint. Ruth was born April 24, 1921 in Flint, the daughter of Lotan and Ruby (Leach) Bettesworth. She attended Kearsley Street School and was a 1939 graduate of Flint Central High School. She was married to Dr. Stanley Hamilton on March 6, 1943; he preceded her in death on September 2, 1998. Mrs. Hamilton was a lifetime member of Linden Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon and Trustee, and was a lifetime member of Linden O.E.S. #175. She was also a member of P.E.O., Linden Historical Society and Old Newsboys. Surviving are: sons, Dr. Frederick (Carla) Hamilton of Myrtle Beach, SC, Christopher (Joyce) Hamilton of Flint; grandchildren, Jonathan Hamilton, Jennifer Hamilton, Chrissy (Michael) Richards, David Hamilton, Lori Melton, Harrison Hamilton, Mason Hamilton and Alexandra Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Isaac Melton, Broderick Richards and William Hamilton.
