Ruth Sarah Gillespie

Gillespie,  Ruth S., age 80 of Grand Blanc, died Wednesday May 17, 2006 at Maplewood Foster Care Home.  Mrs. Gillespie was born in Bay City on August 22, 1925 the daughter of Ernest and Clemence Hunn.  She has been a resident of the Flint and Grand Blanc area most of her lifetime and graduated from Grand Blanc High school.  She married Howard M. Gillespie in June of 1943 and he preceded her in death April 2, 2001. She was a member of the Central Church of the Nazarene and had taught Sunday School.  Mrs. Gillespie enjoyed oil painting in past years, but most of all enjoyed her family. Surviving are two sons:  Howard M. Gillespie, Jr. and wife Barbara of Grand Blanc and Roy Gillespie and wife Deanna of Flint.  Further surviving are 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren,1 great-great grandchild and a sister, Margaret Baggett and husband Luther of Flint.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters; Ceil Tadrick and Mary Lucker and a brother Fred Hunn. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 19, 2006 from Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (Just South of Hill Rd.)  Pastor David Hintz will officiate and burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation at the funeral home will be from  2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. tonight.
