Ruth Ferris

FERRIS, Ruth Darlene - age 91, of Fenton, Michigan, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 23rd, 2017. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 30th, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Mr. Anthony Ferris officiating. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday September 29th, from 2-8 pm at Sharp Funeral Home in Fenton. Ruth was born April 26th, 1926 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Rivers) Peltonen. She graduated from Flint Northern High School. Ruth married Joseph Ferris in 1958. Joe was a Detective Sergeant for the Flint Police Department. Ruth worked for General Motors then left to pursue her passion to be a Dance Instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Surviving are: five children, David Ferris of Harrisburg, PA, Matthew (Dana) Ferris of Fenton, Josephine Ferris of Fenton, Anthony (Theresa) Ferris of Mt. Pleasant, and Michael (Lori) Ferris of Fenton; 11 grandchildren, Josiah, Jenna, Chase, Devin, Brianna, Alyssa, Charity, Mitchell, Molly, Mia, Michael; great-grandson, Elias; brother George Peltonen of Grand Blanc. She was preceded in death by: her husband Joseph Ferris; four brothers, Wallace, Louis, Robert, and Richard; two sisters, Lorraine and Betty.
