Ruth Emily Dice

DICE, Ruth Emily- Age 81, of Gaines, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 18, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Pastor Kenneth Holmes officiating.  Graveside services will be held 2:30 PM Monday at Mt. Morris Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Saturday 1-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday.  Contributions may be made to Lindenwood Church of the Nazarene.  Ruth was born April 8, 1925 in Flint, the daughter of John E. and Carrie (Johnson) Peelman.  She was a 1943 graduate of Montrose High School and has resided in Gaines since 1955.  She married Lester O. Dice July 19, 1947 in Flint and he preceded her in death January 19, 1995.  She retired in 1994 from the Swartz Creek Community Schools as a bus driver after 17 years of service.  She was a member of Lindenwood Church of the Nazarene.  Surviving are:  2 daughters, Beverly and husband Rodger Hooker of Owosso, Janet and husband John Giem of Merrill; 3 grandchildren, Rodger, Jr. and wife Renee Hooker of Fenton, Eric and wife Leah Hooker of Burton, Denyse Hooker of Okemos; 3 great granddaughters, Kaylee, Hannah and Julia; 2 brothers, Homer Peelman of Bannister and Glen and wife Betty Peelman of Durand; and many nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Gordon Dice; brother, Russell Peelman; sister, Frances Stephens.
