Ruth Bernice DELBRIDGE

DELBRIDGE, Ruth Bernice - Age 86, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at Durand Senior Center. Memorial service will be 1PM Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Friends and family will gather on Tuesday from 12PM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Mrs. Delbridge was born in Rankin September 20, 1922, the daughter of Lawrence John and Hulda Amelia (Carlson) Drake. She married Howard Ross Delbridge on December 31, 1940 in Grand Blanc. He preceded her in death August 31, 1988. Ruth had been a homemaker, living in Swartz Creek for many years. She was a VFW Bingo worker and formerly a member of the American Legion. Surviving are: children, Marcia (Frank) Horn of Hastings, Linda (Mort) Sill of Chillicothe, Illinois, Howard (Angela) Delbridge of Battle Creek, David Delbridge of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Deborah (John) Prince of Flint, Karen Vaughn of Swartz Creek; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Agnes Delbridge of Aurora, Colorado; sisters, Helen Pence of Swartz Creek, Marie Harris of Flint; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Delbridge was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, Howard; 2 sons, Lawrence and Emery Delbridge; 3 brothers, James, Carl and Johnny Drake; sister, Jennie Delbridge; 2 granddaughters, Lisa Call and Stephanie Prince.
