Ruth Ann Conrad

CONRAD, Ruth Ann - age 82 of Swartz Creek, passed away peacefully, January 9, 2024. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2024.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice. Ruth was born May 15, 1941, in Croswell, MI, the daughter of Ernest A. and Martha (Clark) Ward. She was a 1959 graduate of Yale High School and moved to the Flint area in 1962, living in Swartz Creek and Flushing. Ruth was in the Dry-Cleaning industry for over 30 years, retiring in 2020. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, bowling and playing cards. Ruth was on a bowling league for 10 years and played Pinochle and Euchre often. She also was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning. Ruth loved her grandchildren and attending their activities and events. She traveled often to Florida and around the USA to National Parks when her children were young. Surviving are: three children, Robbin (Jeff) Ouimet of Rochester Hills, Randy (Jill) Conrad of Boca Raton, FL, Rhonda (Rod) Conrad-Houck of Harrison, MI; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Paige, Ryan, and Kyle; brother, Lyle Ward; sisters-in-law, Beverly Ward, Delma Ward and June Ward; brother-in-law, Junior Farr; former spouse and friend, Homer Conrad; former sister-in-law, Joan Shoebottom; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ernest and Martha Ward; siblings, Bud Ward, Howard Ward, Robert Ward, Warren Ward, Larry Ward, Alvin Ward, Betty Bingle, Lois Clark, Donna, Krohn, Shirley Russell, and Patsy Farr.
