Ruth Barrett

BARRETT, Ruth Mae - Age 82, of Hartland, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, November 22, 2015. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (the little church on the south side of M-59), 1991 N. Hacker Road, Howell. Burial in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Howell. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Road, Fenton Friday from 4-9 PM and at church Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Ruth was born December 24, 1932 in Mann's Choice, PA, the daughter of Jesse and Edith (Price) Smith. She married John Joseph "Jack" Barrett January 18, 1958 in Bedford, PA and he preceded her in death April 18, 2015. She was a caregiver for her elderly friends and neighbors. She was very active with her daughters' activities including, Hartland Band Boosters, Girl Scouts, 4-H, and was the family's taxi service. She was a active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Surviving are her 5 daughters, Lucy Navin of Flat Rock, Kathy Barrett and Ron Ginotti of Hamburg, Colleen and husband Larry Arnold of Hartland, Deanie Barrett and husband Michael Holzinger of Clarkston, and Pattie and husband Chris Thayer of Mason; grandchildren, Luke, Nick, Hannah, Claudia, and Jack; sisters, Alice Gardner, Shirley and husband Donald Ickes, Jane Horn; brothers, Carl and wife Carol Smith and Harry and wife Janice Smith all of Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, William Ford; and several nieces and nephews. She also preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Barrett; parents; son-in-law, Jerry Navin; brothers, Charles, Jesse, Jr., Jack, Russell, Denny, Richard, and Harold; and sisters, Jeanette Ford, Mary Bush, and Marion Eichelberger.
