Ruth Margaret Asselin

ASSELIN, Ruth Margaret (Lorenz) -- Age 79, of Fenton, died November 12, 2011 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. Funeral services will 10 AM Tuesday, November 15 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-9 PM Monday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Boy Scouts of America or American Red Cross. Mrs. Asselin was born March 5, 1932 in Gowen OK, the daughter of John and Margaret (Moleski) Lorenz and was a 1949 graduate of Flint Tech High School. She married Ronald Asselin on March 13, 1953 in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death on July 31, 1974. Mrs. Asselin retired from GM Truck and Bus as an executive secretary in 1996 after 20 years of service. She was actively dedicated to spending her time daughter, son and grandchildren. She was devoted to her friendships. She will be sadly missed by all who crossed her path. Surviving are: daughter, Jill and husband, Jerry Flewelling; of Fenton; son, Joseph Asselin and wife, Elaine of Columbiaville; five grandchildren, D. Joshua Klumpp of Fenton, Christine (Travis) Williams of WI, Elizabeth (James) Crandall of Holly, Nichole Asselin and fianc, Nick Smoke and Michael Asselin of Columbiaville. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Baker and John Lorenz, Sr; sister, Esther Link and brother, John Lorenz.
