Ruth L. Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, Ruth L.- Age 89, of Venice, FL, died Friday, July 1, 2005.  Funeral services will be held 1:30PM Thursday, July 7, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Pastor Jim Howard officiating.  Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon.   Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until time of service Thursday.  Those desiring may make contributions to a Hospice of your choice.  Mrs. Armstrong was born May 10, 1916 in Flint, the daughter of Claud and Luella (DeBarr) Higgins and was a graduate of Flint Central High School.  She married James G. Armstrong February 20, 1953 in Flint, and he preceded her in death September 25, 1999.  She had worked in the banking Industry for many years and had been a member of Court Street United Methodist Church.  She had resided in Venice, FL for the past 4years coming from Salinas, CA where she had lived for 46 years.  Surviving are:  2 sons, Roland and wife Mary McKenzie of Venice, FL, Rodney and wife Nancy McKenzie of Wentzville, MO; daughter-in-law, Peggy McKenzie of Glen Ellen, IL; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard McKenzie; 2 sisters.
