Ruth Virginina -McKay- Anderson

ANDERSON, Ruth Virginia (McKay), age 85, of Fenton, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Rockwell Assisted Living in Fenton. Funeral services will be held 4PM Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton., Pastor David Mulder officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-9PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, and 3PM Saturday until time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Fenton United Methodist Church or Avalon Hospice. Ruth was born April 1, 1921 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer and Eva (Hulen) McKay. She married Lowell Anderson in 1947 and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1999. Ruth earned her Bachelors Degree in Education from Greenville College, Greenville, Illinois and her Masters Degree in Religious Education from New York Theological Seminary, New York City. She was employed by Fenton School District for 30 years, as an elementary and middle school teacher. For Ruth, God, family and others was the focus of her life. She had a ministry of making cards, many of which were written backwards. Surviving are, her son, Jon M. Anderson of Fenton; daughter, Jinny and husband Grant Belinger of Fenton; 3 grandchildren, Erin and husband Chad Goossen of Grand Haven, Brynne Belinger of Fenton, Stephanie Ruth and husband Ryan McMunigal of Linden; nephews, Peter and wife Marty Roggenbaum of Clarkston, Roger and wife Frances Roggenbaum of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Marion Cook of Walled Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Frances Roggenbaum; 2 brothers, Walter McKay and Dr. Paul McKay.
