Russell Tranchell

TRANCHELL, Russell A. -- Age 84, of Flushing, died Wednesday July 20, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday July 26 At Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Committal services 11 AM Thursday July 28 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Monday, and 10 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday. Russell was born December 18, 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of Ray Frederick and Evelyn (Webb) Tranchell. He married Wilma "Jeanne" Ferguson in Memphis TN on April 9, 1954. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from GM in 1992. Russell was a Scout Master for 11 years for Troop 113 in Gaines and he ran the Explorer Post for 4 years. He enjoyed working on the computer, and also playing Dominos, and cards with his family and friends. He was a volunteer for S.A.L.T (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together). He was a member of the Krapohl Senior Center, where he enjoyed Wii bowling and the record keeping for it. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Wilma "Jeanne"; 4 children, Steve Tranchell (Fiance Beverly) of Owosso, Debra (Ronald) Cannatti of Warren, Mary Tranchell (partner Tammy Lauguson) of San Antonio TX, Donielle (Frank) Stassel of Canton; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, William and Donald. Russell will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
