TOWNLEY, Russell V. - age 84, of Holly, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020. Services will be held privately. Interment will be in Tompkins Center Cemetery, Tompkins, MI. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to The Gideons International or Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Russ was born September 7, 1936 in Rives Junction, MI the son of Hurlburt A. and Effie (Taylor) Townley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Russ worked in Data Processing Management his entire career. He was married to Deborah Armstrong on June 17, 1989. Russ was a follower of Christ and a member of Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was a member of The Gideons International. Russ loved working outside and enjoyed gardening and maple syruping. He was pleasant, easy going, and a humble man.
Surviving are: his beloved wife of 31 years, Deborah; 7 children, Timothy (Margery) Townley of Oxford, Janine (Richard) Baldwin of Rives Junction, Todd (Joey) Townley of Imlay City, Bruce (Susan) Townley of Shelby Township, Carrie (Trent) Bolesky of Howell, Andrew (Geraldine) Carpenter of Orlando, FL, Liz (Tom) Boers of Grand Blanc; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Nancy Henry, Norma Listing; sister-in-law, Louise Townley; and several nieces and nephews.
