KRANZ, Russell Vincent Bucky  Age 76, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Henry Ford Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will held 5-8 PM Monday and 12-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Federation for Fighting Blindness or Henry Ford Hospital Neurology Department. Russell was born November 19, 1928 to Gladys Hunt and Nelson Kranz in Flint. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947. Russell married Beatrice Long on April 23, 1949. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 599 and retired from Buick Motor Division on April 30, 1982 after 33 years of service. Russell was an avid outdoorsman. Surviving are: wife, Beatrice; four children, Keith Kranz and wife, Wendy, Kevin Kranz and wife, Luann, Kathy and husband, Mark Dixon, Karen and husband, Wayne Kinne; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Ed Kranz and wife, Mary; sister, Alice Mavety; three sisters-in-law, Marie Kranz, Barbara Nellis, Helen and husband, Harold Evans; two brothers-in-law, Robert Long and wife, Inez, Frank Long and wife, Sally; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: granddaughter, Rachel Kranz; his parents; two brothers, Carl and Elmer Kranz; two sisters, Hazel Partridge and Dorothy Thompson; a very special person in his life, Myrtle Kranz.
