Russell R. Allie

ALLIE, Russell R., age 66 of Flint, passed away peacefully at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc on March 1, 2024.  A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Sharp Funeral Homes,  Miller Road Chapel,  8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Pastor Jerry Pruett officiating.  The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 11:00 AM Friday until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Russell to the Old Newsboys (www.onbflint.org).

Russell Royce Allie was born on May 5, 1957 in Flint, Michigan to the late Russell D. and Marggot Elizabeth (Hall) Allie.  He attended the Grand Blanc School System and married Lynette Kathleen Hall on May 3, 1980 who preceded in him in death on June 8, 2021.  Russell worked for 34 years at General Motors - Flint Metal Fabricating Plant where he was affectionately known as "Big Daddy".  He was dedicated to supporting the Old Newsboys mission and in coaching baseball while also serving as the Commissioner of the Davison VFW Little League and Kearsley Little League.  Russell enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, camping with the Labor Day family and he cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews and attending their various activities and sporting events.

He is survived by his sons, Ryan (Krystal) Allie of Flushing and Darrin (Heather) Allie of Davison.  Grandchildren, Ryan, Jr.; Ashlyn; Madeline; Kaydence; Khloe; Kayla; and Artie.  Brothers, Rick (Martha) Allie; Mike Allie; and Joey (Lisa) Estep.  Extended family, Gloria; Nellie; Cindy and Russell's dog, Fletcher.

Mr. Allie was preceded in death by his Wife, Lynette in 2021; Father, Russell D. Allie; Mother, Marggot E. Estep; and Brother, Mark Allie.
