Rudd Frank SMITH

SMITH, Rudd Frank "R.F." -- Age 91, of Gaines, died October 11, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Saturday, October 15 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Gaines. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday, 10 AM until time of the funeral Saturday. Mr. Smith was born October 31, 1919 in Gaines the son of Joseph and Ethel (Shepard) Smith. He had resided in the Gaines and Durand area all of his life and was a farmer all of his life. He married Mabel M. Palasty on February 18, 1950 in Saginaw; she preceded him in death June 1, 2002. Surviving are: four children, Sharon and husband Mike Miller of Gaines, Mary and husband Dale Rabe of Juneau, AK, Don Smith of Ontonagon, Becky and husband Bruce Bonebrake of New Harmony, UT; six grandchildren, Heather Miller of Northampton, MA, Trevor Miller of New Braunfels, TX, Amy and husband Chad West of Owego, NY, Jennifer Rabe of Denver, CO, Katie Bonebrake of Salt Lake City, UT, Michelle Bonebrake of New Harmony, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mabel; brother Elmer; two sisters Dorothy Tagg and Arletta Libbey; and daughter-in-law Pat Smith.
