Manutes, Ruby Jean - Age 96, of Grand Blanc, died June 5, 2024. Funeral service will be held 1 PM Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church 2245 E. Baldwin Rd. Grand Blanc. Reverend Father Peter Bistolarides officiating. Trisagion service will be held at 12 PM Saturday at the church. Visitation will follow at 12:30 PM until the time of the service at the church. Ruby was born December 10, 1927 in Woodriver, Illinois, the daughter of Harry A. and Ellen A. (Roo) Evans. She married James John Manutes May 8, 1950 in Angola, Indiana. James preceded her in death on June 3, 2008. Ruby was a Mom to everyone. She loved watching all the wildlife around her home. Family was the most important to Ruby. She loved family gatherings and outings, especially Bingo trips with her sisters and sisters-in-law to Canada. Ruby was just a happy person and always there for everyone. She had a heart of gold. She loved to cook for everyone and was a great cook. Ruby and Jim always had pets. She loved riding around in the Can Am side by side on the property. She was a beautiful lady and known to always dress her best. She was loved by all that knew her. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Demitra (Jerry) Thornton of Grand Blanc; sister, Jewell (Andy) Nowyorkas of Burton; brother, Wayne Evans of Montrose; sister-in-law, Joyce Evans; brothers-in-law, Nick (Mary) Manutes, Bobby (Gigi) Manutes; sister-in-law, Anna Jeffries; extended daughter, Brenda Wells of Lapeer; many wonderful nieces and nephews; and very many beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Robert Evans, and Richard Evans; sisters, Nancy Vowell, Carol Yelle, Marilyn Lutz, and Edith Pfundt.
