Ruby Brewer

BREWER, Ruby (Bays)  Age 78, of Lennon, MI died Thursday, September 18, 2003 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Saturday, September 27, 2003 at Central Big Creek Church in Hamiln, WV with Rev. Timothy Wright officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be in the Bays Cemetery, Putnam Co., WV.  In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Bays Cemetery Fund, c/o Zelma Enochs, 1342 Big Creek Rd., Hamlin, WV 25523. Ruby was born August 13, 1925 in Putnam Co., WV, the daughter of James A. and Rhonda Ellen (Stowers) Bays. She was a graduate of Huntington High School in West Virginia and had resided in Michigan since 1959. She married Clifford Brewer on April 6, 1948 in Ashland, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1998. Ruby retired from General Motors in 1988 after 24 years of service. Surviving are: two sons, Marlow Brewer and wife, April, Val Brewer and wife, Patricia, all of Lennon; daughter, Francine Brewer of Flint; three grandchildren, Jill and husband, Adam Sampson, Nicole Brewer, Chad Brewer; four great-grandchildren, Courtney, Skyler, Tyler, Austin; brother, James Bays and wife, Mary of WV; five sisters, Ima Baker, Nell Young, both of WV, Judy Riffe of Albany, GA, Gladys Wright of Flint, Irene Chadwick of FL; two brothers-in-law, Ernest Brewer of Gibraltar, MI, Edward Brewer and wife, Betty of Cupertino, CA; two sisters-in-law, Vivian (Brewer) Tomlinson and husband, Harry, Lucille (Brewer) LaDouce of Dallas, TX; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Crosby, Claude, and Rex Bays; sister, Minnie Thompson.
