Royce David Hyde

HYDE, Royce David - Age 93, of Fenton, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church of Fenton, 503 S. Leroy St, Fenton.  Pastor Robbie Carnes officiating.  Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton.  Visitation will be held Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Friday, January 19, 2024 from 3-8 PM and at church Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 10 AM until the time of the service.  A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home Friday at 7:00 PM, immediately followed by a O.E.S. Memorial Service.  In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Tyrone Township Historical Society or First Presbyterian Church of Fenton.  

Royce was born August 31, 1930 in Fenton, the son of Raymond H. and Leof L. (Fellows) Hyde.  He was a 1948 graduate of Fenton High School and he received a degree in Horticulture from Michigan State University.  He married Deloris May Finger October 8, 1955 in Fenton and she preceded him in death December 28, 2019.  He had resided in Fenton his entire life.  Royce owned and operated Hilltop Orchards in Fenton with his wife, Deloris.  He was Tyrone Township Supervisor for 27 years.  He was a member of the Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge F.&A.M. He also was a member of the Fenton O.E.S. #248 and was a Worthy Grand Patron of the State of Michigan.  

Surviving are: his daughters, Deanna Hyde-Cypher and husband, Dean Haase and Nancy Hyde-Davis and husband, Terry; grandchildren, Catharine Cypher, Harrison (Christina) Cypher, Sydney (Derek) Earle, Owen (Stacy) Cypher, Rachel Davis and Marcy (Eddie) Skinner; great grandchildren, Layla, Jared, Cannon, Reis, Violet and Laila; sister, Barbara Asbury; and several nieces and nephews.
