Roy Smallwood

Smallwood, Roy W., age 73 of Swartz Creek, passed away on December 30, 2022 at McLaren Hospital.  Per his wishes, Roy will be cremated.  Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the McLaren Hospitality House at G-3170 Beecher Road, Flint, Michigan 48532.  Roy was born on April 9, 1949 in Beattyville, Kentucky to the late Arthur B. and Janie (Brewer) Smallwood.  He attended Middletown High School in Ohio and then served our country as an Electronics Technician with the United States Marine Corp before working as a Flight Engineer, flying the P-3 Orion, with the United States Navy.  He had a Doctorate of Philosophy Degree and he was a Free Mason. Upon retirement, Roy enjoyed flying as a private pilot and playing golf.  He is survived by his son, Bryan (Susan) Smallwood of Centerville, Ohio and his grandchildren, Jeff Smallwood of Springhill, FL, Madalyn Zart of Centerville, OH and Zachary Smallwood of Centerville, OH.  Tributes may be shared on Mr. Smallwood's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
