PEARSON, Roy P. - age 100, of Grand Blanc, died January 4, 2022. A funeral service will be held 6 PM Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, January 11 and from 4-6 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Roy was born June 3, 1921 in Flint, MI, the son of Lawrence and Fanny (Ecklund) Pearson. He married Norma M. Jackson, who was the mother of his children and then married Elaine Vincent and she preceded him in death. Roy was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service as a Cutter-Grinder in Skilled Trades. In his youth he was a golf caddy and his love for professional golf continued throughout his life. He was an avid University of Michigan Football and Athletics fan since the mid- 1930s. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Roy was a long time member of Mundy Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are: children, Larry Pearson of Grand Blanc and Marcia Angersoll of FL; step-children, Kenny (Janet) Sheldon of Swartz Creek and Florida and Marlinda (LJ) Myers of Swartz Creek and Texas; grandchildren, Laurie (John) McDonald, Kelly Clapp, Crisell (Mark) Lee, Shalynne (Shane) O'Neill, Michelle (David) Magnon, and Darrell (Sue) Gould; great-grandchildren, Josh (Nicole) Sheldon, Zachary McDonald, Taylor McDonald, Gabrielle Lee, Julia Lee, Rachel Gould, Erin O'Neill, Morgan O'Neill, Isabel (Jaxon) Beckman, Jonathan Gould, and Tyler Magnon; great-great grandchildren, Cooper and Lexi McDonald; two brothers, Robert Pearson of Chesaning and Bill Pearson of National City; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Clifford Pearson, Doris Stevens, Carl Gordon Pearson, Floyd Pearson, and Betty Birch; and special family friend, Bill Mason.
