OSMER, Roy D. -- Age 88, of Flushing died November 11, 2010 at Heartland Fostrian Manor. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Tuesday, November 16 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Jim Harvey officiating. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, with a 7 PM Masonic service under the auspices of New Lothrop Lodge 381 F. & A.M. Those desiring may make contributions to Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital. Mr. Osmer was born February 4, 1922 in Owosso, the son of Samuel Ernest Osmer and Edith (Schautz) Osmer. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer, residing in Flushing most of his life. Mr. Osmer married Kathleen E. Phillips on September 4, 1979 in Traverse City. He was a member of the Mt. Morris Christian Faith Church, New Lothrop Lodge 381 F. & A.M. and the Bay City Consistory. Surviving are: wife Kathleen; two step-daughters, Janice and husband Clayton Rockafellow of Fenton, Chic and husband Ernesto Sanchez of Burton; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister Margaret and husband Alvin Mattson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Eleanor Hunt; and two brothers Donald and Carl. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page at www.shrpfuneralhomes.com.
