SKELLETT, Rose Avalon - age 83, of Flint, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, November 26, 2011 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 706 Beach St. Flint with Fr. Frederick H. Taggart celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Friday with a Knights of Columbus Memorial Service following the rosary. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Powers Catholic High School or St. Matthew Parish. Mrs. Skellett was born June 18, 1928 in Flint, the daughter of Henry and Rose Alvina (Diebolt) Tondu. She married Thomas Skellett on June 19, 1954. Surviving are: husband, Thomas; four sons, Thomas (Cathy) Skellett of Flint, Victor (Elizabeth) Skellett of Clio, Patrick (Kim) Skellett of Flint, James (Mary) Skellett; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Elton A. (Donna) Tondu; special niece, Sharon (Earl) Vanderford-Gilpin and many other nieces and nephews. Her parents; sister, Mary Vinette Caron and nephew, Richard Tondu preceded her in death.
