Rose Novara

NOVARA, Rose Mary - Age 90, of Flint, died May 22, 2015. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday May 26 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant, accompanied by guest pastor Phil Owens of New Covenant Church. Interment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where the rosary will be prayed at 7PM. Visitation will also be from 10 AM until time of service at the church on Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or McLaren Hospice. Rose was born April 27, 1925 in St. Louis MO, the daughter of Walter and Josephine (Kowalski) Boncek. She married James V. Novara on May 28, 1949 in St. Louis, MO; he preceded her in death on April 2, 1980. Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved all children and was active in a variety of supportive roles in the Flint Community School District for many years. Surviving are: her four children, Marilyn (Mike) Zigovits of Farmington Hills, Susan (Mark) Reber of Flint, Tonya (Greg) Demgen of Carlsbad, CA, Gina (Evan) Frakes of Eden Prairie MN; grandchildren, Kathleen (Aaron) Bain, Lauren (Detwann) Johnson, Christopher Demgen, Jack Frakes, Celeste Frakes; great-grandchildren, Taelyn Bain, Soriah Johnson; sisters, Stella Behr of St. Louis MO, Joan Shreve of Mandeville LA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, two sisters; and her two infant daughters. Thank you to those who cared for mom at Willowbrook and the 10th floor McLaren Hospital staff.
