ROBERTSON, Ronald A. "Scotty" - Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 12-4 & 6-8 PM Monday and from 11 AM until the time of service Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to Avalon Hospice. Ronald was born August 11, 1929 in Aberdeen, Scotland, the son of Alfred and Jessie (Thompson) Robertson. He was married to Anne Wishart on July 5, 1957 in Scotland; she preceded him in death in 1979. Mr. Robertson served in the British Merchant Navy, sailing the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Suez Canal. He retired from General Motors in 1989 with 30 years of service. Mr. Robertson was a life member of the Free and Accepted Masons and Flint Scottish Pipe Band. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Durand. Surviving are: children, Lesley (Stephen) Daunt of Perry, David (Teresa) Robertson of Grand Blanc, Andrew (Karen) Robertson of Oakdale, CT, Kenneth (Lyn) Robertson of Flint; longtime companion, Marlene Wherry; grandchildren, Jacob and Emily Daunt, Elspeth Rose Robertson; brother, Alfred Robertson of Aberdeen, Scotland; two nieces; cousins, Marion (Byers) Kryza and Norman Byers. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Anne Marie; grandson, Tyler Andrew; parents; brother, Stanley and an infant sister.
