Peake, Ronald James - Born December 29, 1943, in Flint Michigan. He went home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2023. Ron was married to Linda D. Peake on August 5, 1967, at Bethany Baptist Church. They had two children, Jeffrey M. (Julie) Peake and Colleen R. Peake. He also had one grandson, Dr. Anthony J. Mastin.
Ron worked 32 years for General Motors, at Chevy in the Hole, until he retired in 1996. Ron loved spending time with his family. Any day spent boating was a good day. He also spent much of his time volunteering with different organizations, such as Big Brothers in Flint, First Baptist church in Durand, West Side Auto Employees Credit Union and taught young kids hunter’s safety. There were many years he stood in the cold, selling papers for The Old Newsboys of Flint. Finally, he spent over 20 years volunteering with The American Red Cross.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife Linda D. Peake, parents Francis H. Peake and Helen K. Peake, In-Laws James and Dorothy Jurd, Sister Margaret Durkee and brother Raymond Peake.
He is survived by son Jeffrey M. (Julie) Peake, daughter Colleen R. Peake, Grandson Dr. Anthony J. Mastin, Brother Richard (Diana) Peake, Brother Walter (Edythe) Peake, Sister-in-Law Sue Peake, Sister-in-Law Charlotte Jurd, Sister-in-Law Yvonne (Jim) Fry and Sister-in-Law Jill (Rocky) Clements. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, who he loved very much.
Ron is survived by very special family friends Tom and Carole Stefanski, their children and grandchildren.
Ron battled Dementia for six and a half years, fortunately he kept his sense of humor (which his children used to distract from the frustration) and the names of those close to him. Dementia sucks! His children will miss the field and crop report while driving by the many farms in the area. The farmer’s almanac says you will have a good yield if the “corn is knee high by the 4th of July.
There will be no viewing or service, please consider a donation The Old Newsboys of Flint or The American Red Cross of Genesee County. Ron’s children will spread his and Linda’s ashes at a later date according to their wishes.
