CARTER, Ronald DuWayne, Jr. - Age 56, of Fenton, died suddenly September 8, 2009 at his residence. Services will be held 12 Noon Saturday, September 12 at the First Presbyterian Church of Fenton, 503 S. Leroy St., Fenton, Pastor Dale Swihart officiating. Visitation will be 5-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make contributions to the Ronald Carter Memorial Fund. Ronald was born February 14, 1953 in Lexington, KY, the son of Ronald D. Carter Sr. and Elizabeth M. (Browne) Carter. He had resided in Fenton the past 25 years coming from Auburn Hills. Ron married Susan Nelson on March 17, 1984 in Holly. He was business manager and co-owner of the Fenton School of Dance and the Dance Extension of Holly. He was a substitute teacher for Holly and Fenton Schools, and directed plays for Fenton High School. He was a member and sang in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church, and was a longtime member of the Fenton Village Players. He was an avid scuba diver and gamer. Ron was a professional singer, actor, and held numerous theatrical roles. Surviving are: wife Susan; two daughters, Meredith and husband Adam Weldon of Grand Blanc, Chelsea Carter of Fenton; parents Ronald and Elizabeth Carter of Alva, FL; sister, Grace and husband Rick Farr of Shelby Township; niece Meghan Farr of Shelby Township; mother-in-law Marjorie Nelson of Camillus, NY; brother-in-law, Michael Nelson and wife Bonni of Baldwinsville, NY; nephew, Casey Nelson; many other friends, students, sailing buddies, community members, and his faithful companion Gus.
