Roger John Urick

Roger John Urick, age 79, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Tanglewood Assisted Living in Fenton. Services will be announced at a later date by Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad Street, Linden. 

Roger was born on August 1, 1945 in Flint, the son of the late Steve and Pauline (Agnew) Urick. He graduated from Flint Northern High School, class of 1963. Roger proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. Following the Army he continued his education at Ferris State University, earning his bachelor’s degree. Roger and Peggy Ackerman were united on marriage on December 1, 1973 in Flint. He worked for many years as a loan officer with the Chase Bank until his retirement. Roger loved his family above all and enjoyed his time with his grandchildren, attending every sport and event possible. He enjoyed traveling to Northern Michigan, playing golf, gambling, bowling and shooting pool. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Peggy Urick; daughter, Amanda (Scott) Lepler; grandchildren, David (Jovelyn) Henderson and Samantha Henige; great-grandchildren, Garrett Henderson, Remi Henige and Rylan Henige; siblings, Victor (Pam) Urick, Kirk (Debbi) Urick and Karen Dekelaita; and several nieces and nephews.
