Roger Sting

STING, Roger Lewis - Age 78, of Swartz Creek passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020. Funeral services will take place 1 PM, Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will take place from 11 AM until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek V.F.W.

Roger was born on September 17, 1942 in Saginaw the son of Edgar Sting and Dorthea Menthem. He graduated from Flint Central High School. Roger proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1965. He and Roberta Bigelow were married on January 19, 1968. worked for GM as a Die Maker before his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed his motorcycle, woodworking and gardening.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Dan) Andrews; 2 grandsons, Zachary and Jacob Andrews; and several siblings, nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; parents, Edgar Sting and Dorthea Neill. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
