Roger Henry SCHMEDLEN

February 13, 1942 — September 21, 2011

SCHMEDLEN, Roger H., CPP, CFE, CII, MIPI, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2011. Born 2-13-1942 in Detroit, he is the son of Henry Ehrle Schmedlen and Ruth Audrey Walker. Roger was a security consultant and international investigator with over 35 years private sector field experience. He has conducted security surveys for many Michigan business and public entities, as well as those in Mexico, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. He developed many executive protection programs and handled several high profile crisis events. His investigative role included warranty fraud, international gray market fraud, Internet fraud, product adulteration response, intellectual property crimes, and electronic countermeasure. He was extensively published and acted as an expert witness in security issues for private and public entities. His kindness is treasured by his adoring wife of 36 years, Nancy. He also leaves behind his two beautiful daughters, Laura (Michael) Kennedy and Kimberly Foster. The other loves of his life include his granddaughters, Meghan and Madison Binion, and Violet Kennedy. He is the dear brother of Dan (Jeanne), Michael (Judy), George (Valerie) and Lynda (Tom) Terrill. Roger's devoted cat companions and wildlife friends will greatly miss his tender care. The family wishes to thank the Huron Valley Sinai Hospital staff for their compassion. Memorial Contributions to Fenton Adopt-A-Pet are suggested.
