JOHNSON, Roger Avery 'Red' - age 78, of Linden, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, December 22, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden with Pastor Walter McConkey officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Old Newsboys of Flint. Mr. Johnson was born February 14, 1928 in Bancroft, the son of Aloa and Elizabeth (Brittan) Johnson. He married Mildred Culhane on January 12, 1957. Red retired from General Motors in 1981 as a set-up man. He enjoyed hunting, traveling and cars but most of all he loved his family. Surviving are: wife, Mildred 'Millie' of Linden; four sons, Roger S. Johnson of Adrian, Jerry (Sandra) Smith of Ramsey, Michael Smith of Flint, Terry (Fannie) Johnson of Linden; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Alva 'Jr.' (Dorothy) Johnson of Burton, Albert (Betty) Johnson of Davison; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Leo) White and Leta Male; dear friends, Ruth Cox, Roberta Watson, Arthur and Claire Aldridge; special companions, Lady and Cole.
