Roger Cox

COX, Roger Dale- Age 71, of Flint, died August 21, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, August 24 at Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will take place Monday from 4-8 PM and again on Tuesday from 11-2 PM and 4-9 PM. A Shrine Clown Memorial Service will take place 6:30 PM Tuesday and a Masonic Memorial Service will follow at 7 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Shriners Childrens Hospital. Roger was born January 7, 1945 in Leaksville, NC. He married Judy M. Brening in Flint on May 20, 1966. He was retired from GM Metal Fab and was an active member of Masonic Lodge North Newburg #161. He was a Shrine Clown and an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy; sisters, Margaret (Tommy) Essick, Suelane Scruggs; his self proclaimed adopted brother, Byron Vowell; special friend, Theresa Povolny; special angel, Sharon Stutts. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caregivers in I.C.U at McLaren Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Holt and brother, Bobby Biggs.
