ADCOX, Rodney Alan “Hot Rod”, “MacGyver”- Age 52, of Flint, passed away March 25, 2022. Rod was born May 20, 1969 in Flint, the son of Roy Dale and Aleta Mae (Bosworth) Adcox. He attended Vassar schools and worked proudly as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 35 years. He was a “Jack of All Trades” and was lovingly known as “MacGyver” to his family and friends. Rod was an automotive enthusiast who loved rebuilding cars, enjoyed old muscle cars, and was a fan of Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt. Rod was a very talented craftsman, and a skilled woodworker and furniture maker. He had a natural gift of finding “treasures” in the scrapyard and turning them into beautiful and functional pieces-furniture, home decor, and art. Rod had an extreme love for music, a passion for collecting movies with his son, enjoyed collecting antiques, watching football, and had an immense appreciation for nature, being a self-described “farmer and gardener for life”.
Rodney is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his surviving children. His adored oldest daughter, Nicole, and husband Nate (Fyan), and his cherished granddaughter, Addison; his doted youngest daughter and “Best Friend” Dakota Adcox; and his beloved son, his “Bubba”, Gavin Adcox. He is also survived by his mother, Aleta Bosworth; sisters Rhonda (Scott) Rathburn; Leslie (Harold) Escoe; nieces and nephews, Vanessa, Jessica, Michael, Harold II, Jason, Kayla, Tori; great nieces and nephew, Cadence, Aiden, Novi; as well as his loving partner and “Love of His Life”, Tammi Lewis, and his former spouse and mother of his daughters, Christene Kevresian, mother of his son, Nola Johnsen; 4 uncles, 2 aunts and many cousins. Rodney will be missed by Zaboo, his beloved cat who laid by his side until the very last day.
Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Roy Dale Adcox.
