Rodney Westphal

WESTPHAL, Rodney Herbert -- Age 87, of Swartz Creek, died June 8, 2021. Private service have been held. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Rodney was born January 13, 1934 in Northville, the son of Sheldon and Betty (Keef) Westphal. He graduated from Hoover High School class of 1952. Rod worked for General Motors, Buick Experimental Lab Tech Plant 78 hiring in 1952 and retiring in 1993 with 40 years of service. He enjoyed going traveling the state of Florida in his motor home, going to the casinos and being at home in Oscoda.

Rod is survived by children Sherry Westphal and Michael Rodney Westphal; grandchildren, Jason Brown, Karissa Simons, Justin Hayes, Shane Hayes; four great grandchildren, Jesse Brown, Marayna Weigandt, Mylee Weigandt, Trey Simons. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Beverly Maitland and Shirley (Ken) Loomis; special nephews, Terry Maitland, Randy Maitland, Mike Quinn; nieces Debbie Quinn and Robin Maitland; many great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sheldon and Betty Westphal; great granddaughter; Makayla Lynn Weigandt; special brother-in-law, Vern Maitland.
