Rodney Joel Uptigrove

UPTIGROVE, Rodney Joel - Age 82, of Flushing, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at his home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Glenn Tatterson will preside with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday and again from 10:00 AM until the time of service Monday. Rodney was born on January 9, 1942 in Flint, the son of Walter and Mary (Pulaski) Uptigrove. He graduated from Bentley High School, class of 1960. Rodney and Marica Dunkel were united in marriage on February 14, 1960 in Flint. He worked for 30 years as a truck driver for Tasty Bread Co. until his retirement. Rodney was a faith member of the Flint Baptist Temple and served as a deacon and usher for many years. In his free time, Rodney enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia; son, Stephen (Nancy) Uptigrove; grandchildren, Amanda (Jacob) Brown, Brandi Uptigrove, Sean (Susana) Uptigrove and Ashleigh Uptigrove; and 5 great-grandchildren.
