DENT, Robert John "Bob" - Age 72, of Holly, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, the family request that those attending the funeral wear either U of M or Military attire. (A live stream of the service will be available on Bob's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Wounded Warriors Project.
Bob was born July 18, 1950 in Detroit, the son of Marshall Raymond and Cora Myrtle (Fitzsimmons) Dent. He was a 1968 graduate of Swartz Creek High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army. He married Mary Alice Seirmarco April 12, 1975 and she preceded him in death May 31, 2010. Bob retired from Lear Corporation in Fenton as a Maintenance Supervisor. He had resided in Holly since 2010 coming from Fenton/Swartz Creek. He was a former member of the Swartz Creek V.F.W. Post #3720. He was an avid Michigan fan and a Ford Mustang enthusiast. He also enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions. "Bob was loved by anyone that knew him".
Surviving are: daughter, Jennifer (Donald, Jr.) Durbin of Burton; son, Brian (Amy) Dent of Clarkston; grandchildren, Amber Durbin of Burton, Brandon Dent of Swartz Creek and Sarah McKee of Clarkston; nephew, Josh (Virginia) Schulz of Tennessee; and niece, Melissa Schultz of Tennessee.
He was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Laura Schulz; and half brother, Raymond Dent. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
