SMITH, Roberta Louise, (Brown) age 55, of Burt, died Friday, May 30, 2008 at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich. A memorial gathering will be held 1PM Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Fraternal Order of Eagles, 11416 Vienna Rd., Montrose. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Roberta was born in Flint, the daughter of Robert Eugene and Geraldine May (Vliet) Brown. She married Jerry D. Smith on November 8, 1986 in Montrose. Roberta had been employed by Schlotzskys Deli as a team leader. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Montrose, V.F.W. Women's Auxillary in Birch Run, and a foster parent who was honored as Mother of the Year three times. Surviving are her husband, Jerry of Burt; 2 daughters, Holly Frederick (fiance, Ryan Baker) of Grand Blanc; Sharon Petty of Flushing; 4 sons, Zachary Smith and Dylon Smith of Burt, Christopher Gould-Smith (fiance, Bekki Atkinson) of Montrose, Richard Smith of Burt, granddaughter, Tori Petty; 3 sisters, Bonnie Matzke (Steve) of Montrose; Gloria Renner (Roy) of Montrose, Nancy Kelsoe (Dennis) of Tennessee; brother, Lewis Brown (Cecelia) of Montrose and many nieces and nephews.
