YOUMANS, Robert Kenneth - age 86, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Pines of Swartz Creek. Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Dr. JD Landis officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Swartz Creek United Methodist Church Food Pantry. Mr. Youmans was born February 4, 1924 in Atlas Twp., MI, the son of Myron A. and Florence (Blair) Youmans. He married Helen Bosh on June 17, 1945 in Flint. Mr. Youmans was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. He was an insurance agent for State Farm for many years. Mr. Youmans was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church and enjoyed softball, bowling, the outdoors and especially his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are: wife, Helen; two children, Robert "Bob" Youmans, Jr. and wife, Katie, Bethany and husband, David Bentoski; four grandchildren, Lori Bentoski and Steve, Robert "Bobby" Youmans III (deceased), David Marc Bentoski and wife, Amanda, Ryan "Chip" Youmans and wife, Laurie; four great-grandchildren, Christian Bentoski, Jack, Max, and Ella Grace Youmans; three sisters, Dixie, Louella, and Eleanor (Bob) Barker; brother, Jack Youmans and wife, Mildred. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to caretakers from Avalon Hospice, Janis, David and David B. as well as the staff at the Pines of Swartz Creek, special neighbors and visitors from the United Methodist Church.
