WINKLER, Robert John "Bob" - Age 73, of Mt. Morris Twp., died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 12PM Friday, October 5, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 6-8PM Wednesday, 12-4 and 6-8PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association. Bob was born September 1, 1934 in Sayerville, New Jersey the son of John and Elsie (Wolff) Winkler. He married Lois Price on October 6, 1962 in Flint. He was a graduate of Central High School and attended GMI. Bob was employed by General Motors retiring in 1993 and was a member of UAW Local 659. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Greenland as a Helicopter Mechanic. Bob (AKA "Wink") worked with Charlie Hardaker at fairs and festivals giving children pony rides. He volunteered at Hamady High School Athletic Events where he took in tickets and ran the time clock during football games. Bob attended all of his children and grandchildren's activities and was their biggest fan. Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Lois Winkler of Mt. Morris Twp.; son, Craig Winkler of Mt. Morris Twp.; 2 daughters, Kim and husband "Scooter" Therrien of Empire, Sherri and husband John Manier of Swartz Creek; 8 grandchildren,  Johnny, Nicholas, Kasey, Keith, Tyler, Travis, Zach and Kara; brother, Richard and wife Nancy Winkler of Delray Beach, FL, and many additional loving family members and friends.
