Robert Allen WEBER

WEBER, Robert Allen - Age 77, of Flint, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Fostrian Manor. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Pastor Ray T. McGee officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM and Saturday from 12:00 Noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Flint Male Chorus, Calvary United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Robert was born May 4, 1931 in Flint, the son of Olin and Elizabeth (Truckey) Weber. He grew up in Owosso and was a 1949 graduate of Owosso High School. He attended Michigan State University and was a life long Spartan fan. He married Mary Louise Kruger June 13, 1953. Robert retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing in 1987 after 33 years of service. He attended Calvary United Methodist Church and was a former member of Central United Methodist Church. He served on the District Board of Missions and the District Finance Committee of the United Methodist Church. Robert also was a member of the Flint Male Chorus for 43 years. He loved nature and was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and bowler, but most of all he loved his family. Surviving are: wife, Mary Louise; 3 children, Karen and husband Tim Dutil of Flushing, Susan and husband Stephen Walton of Flushing, William and wife Tam Weber of Springhill, TN; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Dutil, Amy Dutil, Audrey (Josh) Decker, Betsy (Blake) Selvig, Jack and Brian Walton; Craig and Autumn Juday; sister, Marie and husband Duane Dieterle of Flint; brother-in-law, Paul and wife Anne Kruger of Owosso; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Pete Weber. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Fostrian Manor for all their loving care.
