VIEAU, Robert Edward "Bob" - Age 81, of Swartz Creek, Bob passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, October 24, 2022 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Entombment in the Mausoleum at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek Sunday from 4-8 PM where a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM; visitation will be held at the church Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Robert E. Vieau was born December 18, 1940, to Edward J and Marie (Sullivan) Vieau. Bob was born and grew up in Cheboygan, MI. He was the youngest of three children. He attended and graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1959. Bob enlisted in the Army in 1963 and served until 1965. On April 30, 1966, Bob married Ruth Ann Miller at St. Mary Church in Cheboygan. Together they would have two sons Brian and Mark.
While in high school Bob worked at the local A&P in Cheboygan. In 1965 Bob began working for General Motors in Flint, MI at the Fisher Body Plant until 1986 when he moved to work at Buick City where he remained until he retired in 1997. Bob belonged to the Knights of Columbus #6694 3rd Degree and was a member of the American Legion Post #294.
In his spare time Bob enjoyed camping, travel, and watching sports of all kinds no matter the season. He would almost always attend all sporting and school events the grandkids were participating in at any given time. Bob also enjoyed taking walks, listening to music and happy hour with the neighbors. After retiring he added beer, naps, and ice cream to that list.
Bob leaves to cherish his memory wife, Ruth Ann Vieau; Grandsons, Michael, Mason, Maxxwell, Alex (Naclashia), and Dante (Kelsie); Great Grandchildren Raava, Raeya, and Orion. Daughter-in-law Cherie Vieau, Sister Virginia (Ginny) Hull, Daughter-in-law Janis Vieau, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his sons Brian Vieau and Mark Vieau; Father Edward Vieau, Mother Marie Vieau, Sister Beverly, Brother-in-law Clyle Elliot, Brother-in-law Lawrence Hull. Father-in-law Adelor Miller, Mother-in-law Evonne Miller, and Aunt Mac.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and kind words during this time.
