Robert Vankuren

VANKUREN, Robert "Bob" Charles - Age 73 of Flint, died Thursday September 6, 2018. Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday September 11 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel. Our temporary location at Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Road, Swartz Creek (Mundy Township). Pastor Glen Tatterson officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 4PM - 8PM Monday and 11AM until time of service at the Hill Creek Church. Those desiring may make contributions to Flint Baptist Temple. Bob was born July 28, 1945 in Fenton, Michigan, the son of the late Charles and Mary Jane (Borst) VanKuren. Bob married Sherry Surface in 1995 and she preceded her in death on April 25, 2016. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. Bob retired from the General Motors Flint Assembly plant with 30 years of service. He was a member of Flint Baptist Temple where he taught Sunday school with his wife Sherry for several years and touched many lives. Surviving are: son, Jeremy Horton of Flint; sister, Martha and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bill VanKuren.
