TREST, Robert Kenneth - age 80, of Holly, died May 29, 2021. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Grace Missionary Baptist Church, 878 Milford Road, Holly, MI 48442 with Pastor Michael Jackman officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation 10 AM - 12 PM Wednesday at church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Missionary Baptist Church, 878 Milford Road, Holly, MI 48442. Robert was born August 1, 1940 in Laurel, MS, the son of Robert S. and Cloyce (Jenkins) Trest. He was a graduate of Ellisville High School and attended William Carey College. He married Carolyn "Ann" Stringer on October 3, 1963. Robert retired from General Motors in 1996. He was involved in organizing and building Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Holly and has remained a lifetime member. Surviving are: wife, Ann; son, Robert (Becky) Trest, Jr.; two granddaughters, Kelsi Jo (Corey) VanCura of Grand Blanc and Emily (Alex) Reynolds of Sault Ste. Marie; two great-grandchildren, Marshall James and Violet Joelle VanCura; adopted children, John and Belinda Armstead. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
