Robert L. Swanson

SWANSON, Robert Leonard  Age 75, of Flint, died Friday, April 30, 2004 at his residence. Services will be held 1 PM Monday, May 3, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. L.E. Etzel officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Arthritis Foundation. Mr. Swanson was born January 30, 1929 in Flint, the son of Oscar and Agnes (Johnson) Swanson. He married Shirley Smith on October 11, 1963. Mr. Swanson was a self-employed carpenter and cabinet maker for many years. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army 1903 Aviation Battalion. Mr. Swanson enjoyed hunting and loved the outdoors. Surviving are: wife, Shirley; two sons, Robert S. Swanson of Burton, Michael E. Swanson of Flint; two granddaughters, Mariah and Halie; two sisters, Joanne and husband, Jack Pierce of Gaylord and Mesa, AZ, Phyllis Swanson of Flint.
